Bequest and Estate Planning

Bequests are one’s gift to future generations; your children, grandchildren and to the organisations that mean the most to you – a true Mitzvah

Many families set aside 10% of their estate to give to religious, healthcare, educational and/or charitable causes such as Emmy Monash. At the end of life, this 10% can
account to a significant gift to the Emmy Monash Foundation with 90% of the remaining assets going to family and friends.

This bequest gift to the Emmy Monash Foundation is a statement of your values and kindness to others, people you have not met and beneficiaries not even born at the time of the gift. The Founders of Emmy Monash may not have imagined their own children and grandchildren being the beneficiaries of their dedicated service 80 later. Yet in 2024, that is exactly the case, many residents are younger than the organisation itself and soon that will be exclusively the case. It is in this spirit that we demonstrate the value of the Emmy Monash Foundation endowment.
The Emmy Monash Foundation endowment is invested in perpetuity so you can feel confident that the care you know to be provided by Emmy Monash will continue.

Often individuals make decisions years, and even decades, before their life expectancy. Typically, at around age 65, a plan is developed for end-of-life financial decisions, knowing that an individual has a possible 20 or 30 years left. There is a comfort in planning for both the individual and his/her family, it is not about the sadness of one’s mortality. It is about peace of mind. We all face the inevitable. Making decisions whilst we are young and healthy enables us to take time and complete the due diligence required. The Emmy Monash Foundation understands this and can help.

Emmy Monash is the leading Jewish aged care facility in Melbourne and has been for
over 80 years. Our Founders thought ahead, they understood that the needs of Jewish aged care were not guaranteed by government schemes, then or in the future. This foresight enabled thousands of people a safe and home-like experience in their final years. It is the same foresight that the Emmy Monash Foundation carries into its mission.
